Passed the Sharing and Visibility Designer exam today! This was my best test performance yet. The study guide and the practice exams were spot on. Thank you!

    Woo….hoo!!!
I passed this certification in the first attempt with an excellent percentage. Thanks a ton FoF for making my concept clear., not only just passing exam. Both course; study and practice, are highly recommended.

I used this course to clear the Sharing exam a couple of weeks ago. I highly recommend going over the Trailmix instead of relying entirely on the FoF course alone (I know, my fault). From a conceptual standpoint, the course on FoF is excellent. All the scenarios and having the right explanations are great. The only downside is that the exam seems to be lot more focused on specifics whereas I focus on the concept (like limits, license, roles etc). I should have come back earlier to leave this comments as I remember less and less.
Thanks Team FoF. I wish you had the other Architect path courses also. I am usually a little but nervous poring over general documentation not knowing where the focus should really be on.

Woo-hoo! Just passed this one on my first try. 100% on Programmatic & Performance/Scalability sections. 78% on Declarative. Seems like there were more questions on Communities, community licenses, etc., that are reflected in the balance on the practice tests. That’s my perception, though it could be that that’s the area I’m weakest in. Either way… I passed!

Hu Pat, congrats on passing the exam, it’s great to hear that! Thanks for sharing your experience as well, we will keep that in mind with the next update!

    Hi,
I just noticed that in the Regional Manager profile solution in Declarative Sharing 1, the sentence needs some correction. It is written that as one of the managers should not be able to delete Performance Review records, at the profile level we must not give delete option and instead assign a perm set to the 3 regional managers who can delete the records.
Probably it should be like since none of the managers have delete access or as managers should not be able to delete.
    Thanks

The ‘Delete’ permission should not be enabled in the Regional Manager profile since one regional manager does not need to delete the records. The same profile can be assigned to all the four managers to ensure that their base-level permissions are the same. A permission set with the ‘Delete’ permission can be created and assigned to the three regional managers who should be able to delete the records.

It is important to note that a profile is used to grant base-level permissions to a particular group of users, such as regional managers. Generally, they have the same roles and responsibilities in the company. On the other hand, a permission set is used to grant any additional permissions to specific users.

Is there any reason only the classic help pages are linked for folders and list view on the Declarative Sharing 2 section?

    Hello,
There is a question asking that junior sales associates who should have only READ access to the most of the standard objects. The answer to this question is to assign Read Only standard profile to the sales associates. But I was thinking in real world case, we probably won’t let junior sales associates to be able to run reports, export reports and etc. I am choosing to create Custom Profile and assign to them since that makes more sense to me, and we can control permissions better. What do you think?

    1. AP Focus Team

It depends on the requirements. The roles and responsibilities of a junior sales associate can differ greatly from one organization to another, which means that the requirements can also differ greatly. In this particular case, as the question clearly states, junior sales associates do require the ability to run and export reports along with ‘Read’ access to standard objects, so the standard ‘Read Only’ profile can be assigned to them. Creating a custom profile is unnecessary. Also, please note that the answer should be selected after analyzing all the requirements in the question.

    Hello,

I have got an email saying the content exam was updated to reflect changes in technology and best practices over the last 2 years. Does the FoF course has the latest changes ? if not when is it planned. Also how much of a change is this ? i have my exam coming in 2 weeks, need to plan accordingly.

    1. Martin Gessner Focus Team Post author

We have analyzed the changes and found that there is 1 new topic in Declarative Sharing (how files are shared and secured) and an update to the objective about minimizing security risks (to add Lightning Component). There are a few other minor objective name updates. We are working on these 2 updates and plan to complete them this week. We will post updates to the What’s New page.

        Hi Martin ,
Could you please point out where would I find the “What’s New” section as I’m struggling to see it .

        Cheers

The Focus on Force study material was very well done and helped me focus on the gap areas. I definitely recommend investing in the study material. Pair this with the Focus on Force exams, Salesforce Trailmix and hands-on to cement your understanding. Do all your studying before the practice exams to test where you still have gaps. Don’t assume if you can pass the practice tests, you are good to go for the certification exam. Salesforce will test your practical understanding. Good Luck!!

Hi Carol, glad you found our materials useful. Thanks for providing your advice, yes it’s best to use a variety of materials to cover any gaps and get a practical understanding!
