I too failed my first time, been here for about two weeks looking to take the exam this Friday! Any advice is welcome!
So far my study method is to take the unit exam first with the show answers after each answer selected. This helps me get an idea about the module and gives me some quick answers to the questions I miss. I expect that test score to be low and don’t worry about it. Secondly I read the admin guide for that specific topic. This is why taking the test first helps, because you can spot things on the test in the topic contents. Once I am comfortable I check what I learned by taking the test again with the check answers after the question selected again. Anything I miss on this second go I study more in detail. The next day I take the exam again in show me the answer after the test mode. Usually I got it after that. It’s time consuming, but you are going over the material several times. If I don’t quite understand something from the guide, I go find a quick YouTube to see if a different way of explaining it may help, for me that is rare because I find that things are explained well in the course material. So far I have 3 modules left, and I will probably take the exam at the end of next week. I plan to spend the beginning of next week taking the 6 admin exams over and over to fine tune any knowledge gaps I have. Hope that helped.
Something else that I found helpful is to not just look for the right answer, but to also read the wrong answers and explain to yourself WHY they are wrong. I’m scheduled for the admin cert on 6/10, so we will see if this works for me.
Ignore everything I said. I failed the exam too using the process I described. I’ve completed the Admin trailhead, studies the practice exams here, and read the material, … I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I focused on the principal topics of the questions on the practice exams? I understand the processes behind the questions and why each of the answers are true or not true. When I took the actual proctored exam it just seemed confusing. I’ve got to try a different approach.
You got this man!
I was at TrailheaDX19 and Bootcamp. I failed the exam 2 times – even once after the bootcamp. Still in disbelief….That is why I am here now!!
That is why I am here
Passed today – thanks!
Passed the Admin cred test today, first time. I have been here and on Trailhead off and on since March 1 this year. I didn’t make it through all the content and what I did get through was only a single pass (no review) but it helped a great deal. Actually, what was really helpful as taking some practice exams fist choosing the option to review the question after each answer, doing a lot of guessing and getting a LOT wrong. Then looking through the content and seeing the answers pop up in the content. It really helped me. It’s kind of like the difference between reading the questions first and then reading the short story/passage and reading the passage first and then reading the questions after. Not sure if this will work for you but it helped me. Oh, and my exam results: I got the lowest mark in Org set up; the area I thought I was strongest in. Who da thunk! Gerald
I passed my exam. This course helped me a lot. Thanks FocusOnForce Team.
I passed my Administrator exam at the first attempt! Thank you, Martin!
Congratulations !! Martin :) I have planned for this weekend,Could you please suggest or share some material.Does all questions were from focusonforce.com practice question or did you find it difficult/out of blue ?
Just took the ADM201 Cert exam today and passed with flying colors!!!! FOF was imperative AND instrumental in my success with the exam!! Thank you so much guys!!!!!
I bought the ADM-201 course material a month ago. I understand there has been an update to the course on April 19th. Has this material been revised to reflect the update or will I need to buy the course again please? Many thanks.
You do not need to purchase again. Updates are included for 12 months from your purchase. We have checked and updated the study guide based on the Spring 19 exam guide. We are constantly updating the content to ensure it is the latest functionality, however the exam is mainly focussed on the fundamentals that do not change from release to release, so concentrate on those.
The new ADM spring 2019 exam weights have just changed as of 4/19! Marketing has dropped from 15% to 10% i believe. And some other changes.
Hi Kathryn, thank you for flagging this. We have updated the material.
Where did you see that it changed? The SF website lists it the same as the old percentages.
Hi Daniel,
You can refer to this page for the latest Admin exam guide:

Thanks. According to your link, the listed percentages above are incorrect.
Hi Daniel, Salesforce updated the study guides again this week. We think there is an error (the current percentages as of writing don’t add to 100%) and it will be updated again soon.
Dear FoF Team,
As cliché as it may be – I just wanted to say that I passed my ADM201 today with flying colours and wanted to state that your materials were absolutely instrumental in my learning and thank you all! I have just bought the Advanced Admin study course and exams and look forward to sinking my teeth straight into them after a well-earned short break!
Thank you again!
Hi Thomas, congratulations on passing the exam! We are glad the materials helped. Good luck on your next cert!
