Hi, I came across a question today that has an option marked as correct, but is not aligned with what Salesforce documents.

Question: A developer is considering using a standard controller on a Visualforce page. Which of the following are valid considerations about standard controllers?

One of the answers said there is a standard action of create that is provided. I do not believe this to be true however.

Thank you Focus on Force I passed PD1, I failed the first time before I enrolled for this. The material here is really great and helps to think through the concepts in detail, The explanation of each answer is really helpful.
One suggestion for anyone who is planning to take the test, the test has changed completely if you rely on the dumps/materials available on the internet claiming you will pass with them then you are just wasting your time. Having said that even if you score 100 % here on focus on force does not guarantee that you will pass the actual exam. The key here is to understand the concept well and make notes. Good luck!!

Looking forward to enroll for my 4th certification through focus on force, this time for Service cloud.

Awesome news, Sajjan! Congratulations on clearing the exam and thank you for sharing your experience. The whole team is happy to know that we are able to help, cheers!

Hi Sams, Javascript course will be released in the following weeks. We’re working on it right now, and we hope that the exams will be released by the end of the next week. And the study guide will be released in weeks after the exams.

  3. Lisa Hooper

Thank you Focus on Force for all your study materials and practice exams! Without them, there would be no way I could pass the PD1 exam today. They really helped me to review and apply the concepts. Your materials were such an important part of my preparation. Thank you again!

  4. Jonah Welt

The full exam has 69 questions, instead of the 60 it says it will have. And the last 9 questions can only be accessed via the skip question button. Is this intentional?

  5. Alison Mullins

Thanks for the great study material as always. Passing PD1 today marks my 5th certification! I’ve used Focus on Force as a resource to prepare for all my certs over the past 1.5 years – can’t recommend this enough to everyone I know studying for Salesforce certifications!

    1. abidi.jz

      Congrats @Alison. Great achievement.
Did you use any material or practice tests other than FOF?

  6. Sunetra Medhekar

I passed PDI today in first attempt. Thanks a lot for the great material to prepare for the exam.

  7. Sams Ameen

Hello FoF, thank you very much for your amazing materials. Yes, I’ve done it again. I passed my PD1 exam yesterday 26th September 2020 and may I add on the first attempt. This is the 3rd exam I passed studying with your materials and trailhead alone. Just a word of advice for others taking any exam using this or any other platform (If any others exist yet).
    1. Understand how salesforce work – this is the key to unlocking anything else on the salesforce platform.
    2. Have a contextual approach to answering questions on FOF and the real exam – narrow your thoughts only to within the context of the question being asked by avoiding overthinking what is or should be.
    3. Go above and beyond just choosing the correct answer by understanding the what and the why – don’t memorise answers. You will fail otherwise.
    4. Come up with a mnemonic for the key concept that must be remembered – i.e the other of execution. For me, it’s B VA DU AF AS AUTWORK and the rest of it I just remember. Someone will probably come up with a better version but it works for me.
    5. Above all, if you are not scoring 100% across the board, you are not ready for the exam. – well that’s my own strategy. Whatever works for you. Good luck.

I’m running towards the next milestone.

    1. Zrna Anicic

Hi Sams, that’s great news, congrats on passing the exam! We’re happy to hear that our materials helped! Thanks for sharing the experience and advice for other users :)

    2. Sachi Deshapande

      Hi Sams,
can you give more such acronyms which you have created? And also the full form of the one for order of execution?
      It will be really helpful.
      Thanks,
      Sachi

      1. Sams Ameen

        Hi Sachi,
This is just a high-level view. Please don’t take it as gospel. Try reading what happens around each element and what’s not included in the mnemonic/acronyms. Hope it helps

  8. Rohit Muralidharan

Hi, I have been consistently getting 50 plus question correct out of 60. Is this any indicator of how ill perform in the actual exam?

    1. Martin Gessner Post author

Hi Rohit, we suggest to focus on knowing the concepts and variations of them, not the actual scores you get here. You should be confident about each topic and for the questions, not just get them correct, but understand why the correct option is correct and the others are not.

    2. Sams Ameen

Hi Rohit, please don’t misunderstand my suggestions. Scoring a100% across the board is not an indicator that you’ve fully grasp the breadth of the concept. Make sure you fully understand why each answer is the correct answer and why the incorrect is not and most importantly, don’t memorise question. Rather, try to understand the concept. Good luck.

    3. Alison Mullins

Based on that it sounds like you’ll do well, but I agree with both previous comments that the most important thing is understanding the concepts, not just being familiar with the questions and answers here. The Apex Developer Guide and Trailhead were also great resources for me when it came to concepts I wasn’t 100% clear on or haven’t had much real-world experience with yet.
