I have passed my Service Cloud Certification exam this morning, I would like to share my experience with FOF. I divided my preparation between Trailhead, Salesforce Documentation and FOF Practice exams.
I spent 1 month divided between completing Service Cloud Superbadge and the other recommended trails and the 2nd month was spent on completing FOF Topic exams and reviewing the Answers and all the reference links shared there.
I must admit that the knowledge I gained from FOF Topic exams was much more helpful in passing the exam than doing the Trailhead exercises.
I do not think anyone should do FOF practice exams / Topic exams before completing the Trailhead badges because doing those exercises help in retention of topics explained in FOF.
But One should definitely spend a good amount of time on all Topic Exams and their answers to get a good chance at passing the exam.

The exam has very different questions, yet the explanations and reference links at FOF helped me answer them with ease.

Not much! Even for Knowledge Management, I don’t remember any questions from Classic.
But I would suggest you still read about the Classic UI because it helps go to the exam with confidence 🙂

FocusOnForce Service Cloud Practice exams and Study Guide helped me pass the certification yesterday. It helped me understand the basics. Greetings from Orlando, Florida.

Hi, I have just passed the Service Cloud Certification exam. Although the questions were more complex and different in the exam, the concept and explanation I got from these practice exams helped me a lot to crack this one. Thank you FOF.

    Hi!

Could you please advise if the questions we see in the practice exam 1,2 and 3 are the same as in all the topics exams?

Is Topic Exam questns = Practice Questions?

    1. Martin Gessner Focus Team Post author

They are the same, but if we have additional questions on a topic, they would be just in the topic exam, as the practice exams are limited to 60 questions.

  6. Vishal Bhatia

    Hi Martin,
Took the test last week and passed.
To be honest, the actual exam difficulty level is very high than what is in this test.
The type of questions are different.
The only thing that this material helped me was the explanation which was very well formed.
    Regards
    Vishal

Awesome news, Vishal! Congratulations on clearing the exam! We are happy to know that our materials helped! Thanks for sharing your experience, you are right! Our questions are different from the actual questions on the certification exam as we encourage everyone to learn the core concepts of each study guide to prepare for the exam.

Took the Service Cloud Consultant certification exam yesterday and passed. Thank you FocusOnForce – this the 3rd certification I have earned with the help of your resources. My only comment/advice to others prepping for this exam is that I was scoring in the 90th percentile and pretty much each section of the exam and my experience with the real exam is that it was considerably more difficult than what I expected.

I just passed my Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant exam today, literally 3 hours ago. Since my memories are still fresh, just want to add some comments here for everyone’s reference, especially for those of you planning to write it soon.

To make sure my comments are relevant, here’s what I did before I purchased this Focus on Force practice exam package (please note I did not purchase the course with it, just the exams). I have been certified as admin since 2017, I have been semi-hands-on since then in Classic only (I moved on to a mgmt role in 2018 and after that I haven’t had much chance to do much actual work). I was a bit nervous about the exam as 1) I don’t really have that much of hands-on day-to-day experience; 2) my primary experience is in Classic, I know lightning conceptually but never worked in it in reality.

First thing I did is to register for the service cloud consultant course offered by Salesforce online (for free). It was very helpful as the instructor highlights focus areas you need to focus and truly understand the concept (not just memorize). I was attracted by the course also because it offered a $75 discount on the certificate exam 😀

After the course, I started doing the Trailmix for Salesforce Service Cloud consultant (link: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/users/strailhead/trailmixes/prepare-for-your-salesforce-service-cloud-consultant-credential) It was very long but it worth the time as for any features or products you are not familiar with trailhead gives you an opportunity to do it in your hands-on org.

The last and very critical step of my journey was to look for practice exams which are close to the actual exam. Focus on Force was actually one of the resources recommended by the instructor of my Salesforce course I mentioned earlier. I did go through many of the previous comments before I decided to purchase. Here are a few of my own point of views around how to best leverage these practice exams:
    1) Complete all the practice questions, including the ones listed under each sections (not just the practice exams or the randomly generated practice exams).
    2) Do not freak out if you get very low score. Use these practice exams to identify the areas you don’t understand deeply enough and go back to Salesforce help or trailhead or even the hands-on org to make sure you understand the concept and try to remember those limitations, comparisons among a few similar features/concepts.
    3) Do not try to remember the correct answers. I saw someone commented before that she did not get any same or similar questions. She’s right! The actual exam does not have any questions exactly the same as these practice exams. But the theme, the features, the knowledge and focus points are the same. So, like mentioned in 2), after you identify your weakness, go back to make sure you understand it fully. Remembering the questions and answers won’t help you pass the exam.

Wish all of you best luck!

Forgot to mention 4) each question of these exams has very explicit explanation, diagrams and reference links to Salesforce knowledge. These explanations and reference articles are extremely helpful, make sure you go through them, even though you get it right.
